White Label Fiano Hunter Valley 2022

Fiano is a fantastic wine variety for the Australian climate. Originating in the South of Italy, the grape is accustomed to the warm growing conditions we have here.

Our 2022 Fiano is incredibly aromatic with lavish tropical fruit aroma's. Banana, pineapple and melon fruits are generous and prevail over the hint of freshly cut grass that sits underneath.

The wine is luxurious through the mid-palate while the crisp acidity provides a bridge linking the front to the back palate making the wine seamless and delectable. Again the tropical fruits shine through with just a touch of delicate pear skin.  25% of the fruit was left in contact with the skins for 72 hours prior to pressing adding a mouth watering texture to the finish of the wine. Drinking now - 3 years.

A wine that would be well paired with Soba noodles, a delicate Japanese dressing and BBQ salmon. Finish with almond and soy dress Asian greens.

White Label Gewurztraminer Hunter Valley 2022

Grown on the property at Glandore, this is one of our most exciting new wines. The aromatics and the profile of the fruit flavours this variety has allows us to play with the sweetness level and produce an off dry wine that is dangerously delicious.

Showing classic Gewurztraminer characters of pink musk, lychee and aromatic fresh florals our 2022 is incredibly pretty.

Soft and generous up front, the sweetness caresses the palate before the crisp acidity manoeuvres the wine towards the back palate. Lychees and candied orange fruits lift from the wine and the farewell is clean and refreshing with just a tail of sweetness saying goodbye. Drinking perfectly in its youth. Now - 2 years.

Nick, our winemaker, travelled through Laos many moons ago and one of his favourite dishes was a chicken larb salad. Mince chicken is mixed with fresh mint, red onion, chilli, lime and coriander. There is a lot of chilli in the traditional recipe but spice it up how you like. The perfect match to the sweetness this wine holds.

White Label Pinot Gris Tumbarumba 2022

From ensuring we retain as much of the natural grape character as possible our Pinot Gris retains a soft pink hue. This grape variety is more bronze in colour than white and retaining some of that essence is to be expected when we refrain from decolourising the wine with finings.
On the nose we enjoy generous and lively Kiwi fruit aromatics, and these fresh and clean characters are underwritten by subtle chai spices and savoury highlights.
The palate is open and quite generous up front before the orange-pulp acidity moves things to the back palate. Phenolics of nashi pear skin give texture and structure to the wine and subtle Thompson grape flavours (think Woollies) are in view but all of these are quite subtle as they normally would be in this variety. Enjoy this wine in its youth over the next 3 years.
A lunch time style that calls for sunshine and a French niçoise salad.

Black Label Elliott Semillon 2022

2022 provided us some challenges but it is quite often in the wet years that Semillon shines the brightest here in the Hunter.

An aromatic and attractive nose of lemon sorbet, cumquat and grassy highlights are a delight to the senses. They are generous and playful as the appear from the glass and are looking incredibly clean & fresh.

There is some generosity to the mid-palate of the 2022 Elliott allowing elegance and richness to the wine while the zesty lemon citrus and crisp acid provide ample flavour and a talcy texture to the finish.

Like all Semillons in great years, this wine will cellar well. Enjoy today and for the 12-15 years.

A fantastic wine by itself but you can never go wrong with fresh Merimbula oysters. Their creamy and saline flavours pair brilliantly with young Semillon.

Black Label DPJ Chardonnay 2021

Carefully selecting a combination of new and old French puncheons from amongst our chardonnay barrels, we strive to produce a wine of depth, structure and outstanding flavour for our limited release Cellarhands Chardonnay

An alluring nose, complexed by wild fermentation characters, shows a wine that is more savoury in character than fruit driven. Oats & meal present upfront with a flinty “struck match” and a creamy richness supporting the alluring aromas of Persian fairy floss and rich nougat.

The palate is not for the feint hearted and is seriously full bodied. Succulent, velvety and showing great structure and balance this wine speaks to your palate long after it has physically disappeared. Very subtle flavours of caramelised apple show though on the finish leaving you with a kiss of fruit falvour.

This wine drinks superbly and should be enjoyed in its unadulterated glory. Pair with a 36-month aged French Comte cheese and a handful of walnuts

Black Label Chloe Blanc de Blanc 2021

The much adored and highly anticipated second release of Chloë is finally here!

Fine aromatics of lemon curd, Granny Smith apple skins and flinty sherbet are carried on fine bubbles as they lift from the surface of the wine.

The medium weight palate shows just hints of the 12 months of yeast autolysis with lemon tart and arrowroot biscuit characters showing through. There is a fantastic spine of acidity that runs the length of the palate paying homage to the true characteristics of a methode champenoise Blanc de Blancs. Snappy grapefruit leaves the palate crisp and fresh on the finish while the gossamer mousse of bubbles are a decadent massage on the palate. Salut.

This wine will age sensationally over the next few years. Drinking well into 2026 and pairs beautifully right now with Mussels Marinières - Mussels in white wine sauce.
