White Label Shiraz Hunter Valley 2021

Not surprisingly, this is a very early bottling of our Hunter Shiraz but when the winemakers had pulled the wine out of barrel for a routine tasting they were stoked with how vibrant and silky the wine was. Bottle it now was the call and here it is. So much fruit!! An amazingly bright and youthful wine with mountain loads of fresh red fruits and rich characters of delicious dark plums.

The wine is medium bodied like a true Hunter Shiraz should be and the fine and slightly dusty tannins are just beautifully counter punched by all those delicious red fruits that well up on the palate. Juicy red fruits of dark plum, fresh raspberries and cranberry are lavished upon you before moving to a soft, silken finish.

Drinking beautifully now as this wine is all about those delicious fresh fruit characters. The wine will cellar in the short to medium term. Drinking well into 2026.

This is the perfect everyday glass of wine that you need....everyday! Enjoy this wine by itself but if you were to match it with a flavoursome San Choy Bao you will not be disappointed. Believe us, it works.

Black Label TPR Tempranillo 2019

An absolute cracking wine from the superb 2019 vintage here in the Hunter Valley and arguably one of our best TPR’s produced to date.
Youth is definitely on this wines side with fresh fruit aromas of figs and black currants presenting from the glass. This is further complexed by enticing black tea, toffee, nutmeg and cinnamon spice and with just a hint of black olive tapenade. Yes, there is a lot going on here.
The palate is seamless with no gaps, peaks or valleys from the front to the back palate. Generous to a fault and beautifully balanced with fine dusty tannins providing superb structure. There is a creamy richness to the wine that rounds out the finish and leaves the palate gasping for more. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to do so for another 10-15 years with amazing complexity.
A wine that will appreciate working with some decent flavours. Low and slow would work well. Either in a slow cooker or on your backyard smoker beef short ribs, deliciously sticky and melt in your mouth is the order of the day.

Regional Series Tempranillo Hilltops 2021

This will be the last release wine under our Regional Series banner with all future wines in our new re-vamped White Label and it is more than a fitting farewell.

Dark red plums and delicious aromas of milk chocolate and cinnamon toast seriously leap out of the glass. This wine smells deliciously enticing and is the outcome of bottling this wine after only 7 months in old French barrels, retaining the purity of primary fruit.

The medium bodied palate is generous with crunchy acidity leading through to a fine coating of mouth filling tannins. The wines is very approachable but also has depth and character that is true to the ‘Crianza’ style of Spain this wine has been made for (short time on oak, bottled young). Drinking at its best when moderately young so enjoy over the next 5-7 years.

This is going to be a joy with food. May we suggest a Basque style pintxo (tapas) of Chorizo and Manchego on crisp, fried bread.

White Label Gewurztraminer Hunter Valley 2022

Grown on the property at Glandore, this is one of our most exciting new wines. The aromatics and the profile of the fruit flavours this variety has allows us to play with the sweetness level and produce an off dry wine that is dangerously delicious.

Showing classic Gewurztraminer characters of pink musk, lychee and aromatic fresh florals our 2022 is incredibly pretty.

Soft and generous up front, the sweetness caresses the palate before the crisp acidity manoeuvres the wine towards the back palate. Lychees and candied orange fruits lift from the wine and the farewell is clean and refreshing with just a tail of sweetness saying goodbye. Drinking perfectly in its youth. Now - 2 years.

Nick, our winemaker, travelled through Laos many moons ago and one of his favourite dishes was a chicken larb salad. Mince chicken is mixed with fresh mint, red onion, chilli, lime and coriander. There is a lot of chilli in the traditional recipe but spice it up how you like. The perfect match to the sweetness this wine holds.

White Label Chardonnay Hunter Valley 2022

Our White Label Chardonnay is very much in the style of Chablis where we keep the oak on the down low and let the fruit and texture of the wine shine through.

The fragrances that decant from the glass are incredibly intense. Fruit aromatics of tinned peaches and honeydew melon are fresh, clean and competing with marked floral blossoms and hints of spicy cinnamon quill.

The sensory adventure continues in the mouth. The soft and silky palate is light and refreshing with melon fruits, golden delicious apple and orange pith flavours fighting for your attention. There is also a creamy mid-palate that comes from ageing on yeast lees for the past six months.

Drinking really well in its youth and that was the idea. Enjoy now and until 2024.

In writing these notes Georgia (Assistant Winemaker) took it upon herself to take one for the team and enjoyed a bottle at home.  In the kitchen, she crafted a superb match of burnt butter and home grown sage with spinach and ricotta hand rolled tortellini. Call the winery for the recipe.
