Regional Series Tempranillo Hilltops 2021

This will be the last release wine under our Regional Series banner with all future wines in our new re-vamped White Label and it is more than a fitting farewell.

Dark red plums and delicious aromas of milk chocolate and cinnamon toast seriously leap out of the glass. This wine smells deliciously enticing and is the outcome of bottling this wine after only 7 months in old French barrels, retaining the purity of primary fruit.

The medium bodied palate is generous with crunchy acidity leading through to a fine coating of mouth filling tannins. The wines is very approachable but also has depth and character that is true to the ‘Crianza’ style of Spain this wine has been made for (short time on oak, bottled young). Drinking at its best when moderately young so enjoy over the next 5-7 years.

This is going to be a joy with food. May we suggest a Basque style pintxo (tapas) of Chorizo and Manchego on crisp, fried bread.

Grown on the property at Glandore, this is one of our most exciting new wines. The aromatics and the profile of the fruit flavours this variety has allows us to play with the sweetness level and produce an off dry wine that is dangerously delicious.

Showing classic Gewurztraminer characters of pink musk, lychee and aromatic fresh florals our 2022 is incredibly pretty.

Soft and generous up front, the sweetness caresses the palate before the crisp acidity manoeuvres the wine towards the back palate. Lychees and candied orange fruits lift from the wine and the farewell is clean and refreshing with just a tail of sweetness saying goodbye. Drinking perfectly in its youth. Now - 2 years.

Nick, our winemaker, travelled through Laos many moons ago and one of his favourite dishes was a chicken larb salad. Mince chicken is mixed with fresh mint, red onion, chilli, lime and coriander. There is a lot of chilli in the traditional recipe but spice it up how you like. The perfect match to the sweetness this wine holds.

White Label Sangiovese Hilltops 2021

Chianti by another name, when in Italy, and an increasingly popular wine style on the Australian winescape. After only 9 months in oak our Sangiovese has retained that vibrant bright cherry red colour of youth.
Aromas of fresh cherries on the nose are bolstered by earthy umami aromas and a shadow of earthy beetroot relish. There is a depth of aroma here that is beguiling. The palate shows medium weight with a viscosity that allows it to flow gracefully around your mouth. Dusty tannins and pure red fruits of cherry and red plums make this a delight. Best served around 16oC – 18oC to see this wine at its best. Drinking well over the next 5-7 years.
Cured meats like Prosciutto di Parma or San Daniele bring a balance of saltiness, sweetness, and fat – ideal for such a wine. A well-balanced duck or venison ragu would also be a great match.

White Label Malbec Hilltops 2021

Never have we seen a wine here that hides in the dark and simply broods. It is almost menacing. With its deep, sangre red colour and ripe fruit characters this is a serious addition to the Glandore portfolio.
Deliciously aromatic, our Malbec will take you on a journey. Aromas of fresh dates, mulberries and cocoa nibs are supported by husky roasted peanut shells and earthy beetroot juice. 
The palate is a bomb! Full bodied and astonishingly flavoursome, the generous, rich fruits warm the mouth and lead to the fantastically long finish. Tannins are softened by all that fruit richness and a sensual kiss of rich chocolate mousse on the finish is a parting gift. Drinking beautifully now and will age though please enjoy in the next 3-5 years so you can enjoy all it has to offer.
A food favourite and will pair well with some flavoursome pasta dishes. Our suggestion is an Italian sausage bolognaise and fresh grated 24 month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Black Label DPJ Chardonnay 2021

Carefully selecting a combination of new and old French puncheons from amongst our chardonnay barrels, we strive to produce a wine of depth, structure and outstanding flavour for our limited release Cellarhands Chardonnay

An alluring nose, complexed by wild fermentation characters, shows a wine that is more savoury in character than fruit driven. Oats & meal present upfront with a flinty “struck match” and a creamy richness supporting the alluring aromas of Persian fairy floss and rich nougat.

The palate is not for the feint hearted and is seriously full bodied. Succulent, velvety and showing great structure and balance this wine speaks to your palate long after it has physically disappeared. Very subtle flavours of caramelised apple show though on the finish leaving you with a kiss of fruit falvour.

This wine drinks superbly and should be enjoyed in its unadulterated glory. Pair with a 36-month aged French Comte cheese and a handful of walnuts
