As the Summers get hotter and the winters drier, fruit yields are down. We were very fortunate to secure a small parcel of Semillon from the famed Maluna Vineyard to blend with the fruit off the Glandore Estate.
The blending of these two vineyards has created a very aromatic, fresh style of Semillon. Aromas of lemon pith and curd are highlighted by hints of tropical pineapple. The generous palate shows a sherberty texture with a long length of flavour and a grapefruit like finish.
Not one of our longest living Semillons but should comfortably cellar for 5-7 years and still show those lovely aged characters.
Semillon works so well with oysters but try with a lemon cured kingfish ceviche dressed with finely chopped spring onions and lemon zest.
