Regional Series Merlot Orange 2014

A good Merlot can be enjoyed every day and the way the plum and raspberry fruits come screaming out of the glass, this could be your everyday wine.

You will experience those same fruit characters from the nose on the palate, as well as the soft mid-palate weight of the wine. Maraschino cherries start to show up and the soft, silky tannins just draw out the palate leaving you lip smackingly satisfied.

Your Regional Merlot is just entering its prime drinking time and will continue to reward for the next couple of years. This weekend it would look awesome when served alongside grilled lamb cutlets and a tzatziki dipping sauce.

Regional Series Tempranillo Hilltops 2016

No longer considered an alternative variety on the Australian Wine Scene, Tempranillo has fast become an incredibly popular wine style.

Our 2016 Regional Series Tempranillo is a beautiful garnet red in colour exhibiting aromas of rich cherry pie with hints of cinnamon spice. Like all our Tempranillo’s, we love the complexity that spicy paprika adds.

The palate is firm with a tannic bite balanced by sweet mid-palate blue fruits. The wine has a great length and is ready to be served with a robust food pairing.

To mix things up, replace the traditional Toulouse Sausage in a Cassoulet with a spicy chorizo to get a fantastic match.

Regional Series Late Harvest Semillon 2011

A dessert style wine that isn't as sweet as you think it is.

Classified as a dessert style wine, you would be correct in thinking that there is some sweetness here because there is.  However, to mix things up a bit we prefer to serve this wine at the beginning of a meal matched to some really strong, savoury cheeses.  The sweetness is balanced by the savoury cheese whilst the fresh fruit flavours and aromas of the Semillon really stand out and deliver the fresh fruit and lightness to the palate that always surprises.

So, head off to the cellar, grab one of those bottles of sticky that have been rolling around back there for ever and try it with some good cheeses.  Once you realise we are right, you now have to order some of ours.

Regional Series Shiraz Hunter Valley 2013

Hunter Valley Shiraz is a unique and special gift to the wine drinking world and this wine is the perfect example of over 150 years of winemaking in the region.

The nose is packed with earthy and savoury characters whilst the red fruit aromas and spicy pepper characters add to the complexity of the bouquet. Aged in new and old French hogsheads, the influence from these barrels is subtle whilst remaining influential.

The palate is a great example of what a fine Hunter Shiraz should taste like. Again the oak provides depth and complexity to the fruit characters of the wine. The generous tannins are well rounded and the medium bodied palate allows for each of these characters to be experienced within the wine.

This wine will age beautifully into the future and will reward those patient enough to tuck away a few for the future.

Black Label Elliott Semillon 2019

As the Summers get hotter and the winters drier, fruit yields are down. We were very fortunate to secure a small parcel of Semillon from the famed Maluna Vineyard to blend with the fruit off the Glandore Estate.

The blending of these two vineyards has created a very aromatic, fresh style of Semillon. Aromas of lemon pith and curd are highlighted by hints of tropical pineapple. The generous palate shows a sherberty texture with a long length of flavour and a grapefruit like finish.

Not one of our longest living Semillons but should comfortably cellar for 5-7 years and still show those lovely aged characters.

Semillon works so well with oysters but try with a lemon cured kingfish ceviche dressed with finely chopped spring onions and lemon zest.
