Regional Series Hunter Valley Rose 2021

The wine is beautifully aromatic and packed with red summer fruits of strawberries and raspberries. There is a floral rose water character on the nose that reminds us of indulgent Turkish Delight and finishes with a sherbety hint waving farewell.
The palate takes us to the south of France where dry, crisp Rosé’s are the order of the day. The wine has a fantastic balance, and those summer fruits dominate the medium bodied palate. There is a light dusting of phenolics that give texture to the wine and a kiss of acidity on the finish cleans up the palate and leaves you salivating for more.
Pair with a shared board of cheese, antipasto, cured meats and savoury nuts.

Regional Series Fiano Hunter Valley 2021

Fiano originates in Campania and is also widely grown in Sicily.
The nose of the wine is aromatic and packed full of banana lolly esters and hints of lemon leaf. White nectarine and lemon cheesecake also speak to you from the glass.
The palate exhibits a saline minerality showing great length with stonefruit flavours and a very light texture to the finish of the wine. The mid palate shows generous mouthfeel with just hints of creamy nougat.
This wine is made to enjoyed in its youth. Drink while young.
Keeping within the region of Campania, Fiano is a fantastic match to slightly acidic dishes like tomato-based pastas. None are more famous from the south of Italy than Puttanesca. Buon Appetito.

Black Label DPJ Chardonnay 2019

2019 marks the three-peat of vintages in the Hunter Valley and what a fantastic year it was. Pale golden straw in colour and with aromas of fresh cut hay, cumquat and honeydew there is a beautiful freshness to the wine. Hints of pink musk and vanillan oak add to the complexity and with time in the glass the wine really begins to shine.

Flavours of blood orange citrus and white nectarine are ably supported by fine phenolics giving texture to the wine with a wet river stone minerality on the finish. Don’t be afraid to decant but drink now – 2027.

For wine of this style enjoy with King George Whiting with a blood orange, rocket and pomegranate salad.

Black Label TPR Tempranillo 2016

Our 2016 TPR appears quite ‘soft’ in the glass. It looks more like a traditional Rioja out of Spain than an Australian Tempranillo.
The aromas on the nose are a medley of savoury spice. Fresh ground nutmeg and powered cocoa lead the way with toasty oak in support. With time in the glass we see the fruit open up and begin to shine.
The palate is quite lively with rich, intense dark fruits, grippy tannins and soft acidity on the finish. There is a ‘meaty’ intensity about this wine giving it quite a savoury edge. Good in the cellar for around 5-7 years.
With those savoury flavours we suggest a dry aged, grass fed sirloin caramelised over hot coals. Pair with charred broccolini & crusty bread.
