Bright ruby red in colour, the wine shows powerful intensity coupled with a deep complexity in the glass.

Aged in French puncheons (500L) the ripe primary red fruits are complexed by cedary vanillin oak, spicy tobacco and lifted floral aromatics that come from 30% whole bunch fruit in the ferment.
The generous palate is dusted with fine, talcy tannins that support a rich mulberry infused fruit profile leading to a firm kiss of acidity on the finish giving length to the wine. It is this structure that will reward this wine (and the wine drinker) with some medium cellaring. Drinking well into 2027.
Hunter wines are a superb wine matching experience. We love them with the subtle savouriness of lamb. Enjoy with a herb crusted lamb rack, crispy duck fat potatoes and Dutch carrots.
