Black Label TPR Tempranillo 2017

Sorry - this product is no longer available

The intensity of ripe mulberries, figs and blue fruits expresses the quality of the vintage in the Hunter in 2017. Savoury aromas of mocha coffee, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon round out a beguiling nose.

The generous palate is youthful with fantastic tannins that fully coat the mouth and give fantastic length to the wine. Generous ripe fruits further fills out the palate and an intriguing black tea character offers something unique. Drink now until 2027.

This wine can handle something serious. Try a dry aged beef T-Bone cooked over a smoky grill. Serve with smashed chats and charred asparagus.

Regional Series Tempranillo Hunter Valley 2017

2017 was a cracking year in the Hunter Valley and you can see it in this wine. Just check out that amazing colour.

On the nose there are aromas of a creamy berry brulee, cranberries and fresh dark fruits. Second use oak shows through with some lovely toasty notes whilst there is just a background of wet river stone.

Medium bodied on the palate with lively and juicy fruits. It is absolutely mouth-watering. The tannins are there, but they are light and play a secondary role to all that fruit. Plenty of crunchy acidity on the finish that will pair well with oils & natural fats. Cellar in the medium term, 5-7 years.

You couldn’t do any better than char-grilled chorizo. Straight off the grill and into your mouth. Follow with a taste of Tempranillo. Olé!

Black Label Fireball Cabernet Merlot Magnum 2014

The second release under this auspicious title and certainly doing justice to the name that has been bestowed upon it.

Full bodied and rich this wine is more like something off the ancient soils of Bordeaux than the cool climate hills of the Orange region in NSW. The aromas from the glass are incredibly rich and exhibit dark fruits, spicy French oak & a hint of mint from the Cabernet.

The palate is generously supported but fine dusty tannins that give length and excellent body to the wine. The fruits are elegant and with a great depth of complexity arriving from maturation in oak puncheons.

This wine is a big step up from previous releases and would be well paired to a rib eye fillet, bone on, seared, oven baked and served with a red wine jus and seasonal greens.

Black Label Ginger-Rose Shiraz Magnum 2014

From our Black Label range comes a serious crowd favourite. Marry that with a fantastic 2014 Vintage across all of NSW and you have an absolute showstopper of a wine in our Ginger-Rose Shiraz from the ACT.

Ruby red in colour and exhibiting aromas of intense red fruit, creamy vanilla oak and nuances of spiced fruit cake, there is a lot going on here. The palate is a complete surprise; medium bodied, delicate and silky with soft, fine tannins that are long on the finish. Like all cool climate wines, there is an underlying power that belies its origins. Cellar 8 – 10 years.

Something a bit more challenging to accompany this wine would be a char-grilled radicchio, provolone and red wine risotto.

Regional Series Block A Late Harvest 2021

Intense aromas of orange marmalade, savoury fig jam and cold pressed honey are all vying for the lead on your nose though marmalade is the strongest contenders.

The palate is medium bodied and again those marmalade flavours play a strong role. As well as creamy fresh figs to round out the fruit profile.

There is just a dash of acidity on the finish that scoops up any residual sugar and leaves the palate dry and fresh.

Enjoy this wine with some beautiful hard cheeses, a rich and savoury pâté or an orange based dessert. Just make sure your wine is the sweetest thing on the table!
