Our first release of Ginger-Rose since 2015 and with a 5% addition of Viognier to the blend, she is becoming a very elegant young lady.
The wine looks awesome in the glass, bright and ruby red in colour. The aromas from the glass are all about plums and dark berries, alluring florals and just a hint of sweet liquorice. The enticing French oak brings some deft savoury spice to the finish.
On the palate we see the true elegance that Ginger-Rose has now developed. Medium bodied with fantastic structure and length the generous fruit is tempered by the French oak, restraining the wine from becoming to extroverted. Spicy black pepper waves goodbye on a long finish that is supported by the ripe red fruits and young, fine tannins. Drinking beautifully now and well into 2026.
As suggested by our wonderful Trisha in cellar door, who is married to a Frenchman, medium rare eye fillet topped with a rich dose of foie gras. As it melts, so does your heart.
