Black Label Chloë Blanc de Blanc 2019

Our first ever Estate grown Blanc de Blanc and it is stunning. Named for Nick’s beautiful wife Chloë, this wine is one of the best.

Chloë exhibits the classic characters true to style. Green apples are a standout and further complexed by baked apple strudel pastry and aromatic esters that come from 12 months on yeast lees in bottle.

The palate has a fine mouse and shows creamy yeast autolysis characters of fresh brioche and delicate aldehyde leading to a crisp acidity on the finish. This is a fun wine to enjoy now and over the next few years.

Serve with a grilled crayfish tail and a delicate champagne (sparkling!) sauce. (Google it – Poh’s Kitchen)

Black Label DPJ Chardonnay 2018

An icon of the Glandore stable and from a generous 2018 Vintage this will be a wine for now and tomorrow.

Showing a bright straw hue and a complex nose of fresh French oak, white peach, cinnamon, hints of delicate florals and tease of a bouquet garni. The palate now is compact and tight with fantastic length but as this wine ages you will see its generosity open up with richness and depth. A lemon butter zest and stone fruits drive the palate and linger on for a long time.

This complex wine needs maybe a complex food match. We suggest a Chicken Tagine with preserved lemon and olives

Black Label Ward Shiraz Cabernet 2014

The Shiraz Cabernet Blend is unique to Australian shores and you could say we invented it. Our 2014 Ward shows those lovely bass notes of Shiraz and High Hats of Cabernet Sauvignon that make this such an awesome style. Ripe Shiraz fruits are complimented by the rich herbaceous Cabernet characters of black currant and tomato leaf and are well integrated after 23 months in French and American oak.
The young tannins are long on the finish and the sweet vanilla oak characters add depth to the wine. Full bodied and well-structured this is definitely a wine for the cellar. We are thinking 10 years plus but maybe longer.
Need a food match? Slow roasted lamb shoulder. You pick your favourite roasted veg.

Black Label Hamish Shiraz 2014

What many consider to be the Icon wine at Glandore, the 2014 Hamish Shiraz will without doubt exceed expectations for all.
A deep, sangre red this wine is full of concentrated power where no one character rules but the sum of all its parts make it a great wine. The nose is full of earth, black pepper and rich, concentrated red berry fruits that constantly evolve in the glass.
The palate shows a freshness of youth with hints of espresso coffee, dark chocolate, ripe fruit and outstanding balance. Full bodied and the with great structure this wine is our Icon Shiraz.
Definitely worth cellaring. 15+? We think so but see if you can do it. If not, make the effort, track it down and make a Wild Boar Ragu, served with a crunchy baguette and creamy rich butter.

Cellarhands Brokenback Chardonnay Magnum 2018

Picked by our Members, made by our Members, bottled by Glandore. For those of you at the 2018 Members Picking Day, this is the wine.

Bright Straw in colour and jammed with complexity. Aromas of ripe white peach and subtle lemon zest compete with the creaminess of praline and fresh baked bread.

The palate is velvety smooth and a lustrous richness. Spicy baked apple flavours and toasty French oak combine with a clean acidity giving this wine amazing length and depth of flavour. Drinking beautifully now but will continue to bring joy for the next 3-5 years.

This wine will be fantastic with a pork loin, encased in crunchy crackling and served with roast vegetables, gravy and apple sauce.
